KehillahSF was started in 2011 by a group of people who were interested in creating a participatory prayer and study community. We are a purely volunteer minyan, which depends on contributions of time and energy to exist and thrive. The financial contributions we receive pay for all of our program and operating expenses.
First and foremost we are striving to create an invested and empowered community.
Although we do not have a formal dues structure, we suggest annual contributions of $200 for individuals or $400 for a household. As this is a suggested amount, please understand that we welcome all participants no matter the amount of their contribution or ability to pay. We are in the process of obtaining tax-exempt status, and when that is completed, donations will be fully tax deductible.
Currently, the main cost of KehillahSF is the rental of our venues, insurance, and some minor administrative expenses. However, we do anticipate that our programming will expand and consequently our expenses are likely to increase. Please note that suggested contributions to KehillahSF do not include expenses for the High Holy Days.
